Preliminary viral load report: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good ..."

I received a call from Dr. Scott's office telling me that while they have not seen the actual numbers, the preliminary report from Mayo is that I tested "negative" for Hepatitis C. They expect to receive the actual report in "a couple of days."

The news brought an interesting response in me in that the "world" side of me wanted to wait on the physical report before praising God, but then the Spirit took over. After all, this has been my prayer: "that I would be free of Hepatitis C, and remain free of cirrhosis and liver cancer." So it was that in prayer this morning, it changed to praying "that I remain free of Hepatitis C, and remain free of cirrhosis and liver cancer" -- in addition to an extended time of praising God for what He had already done!

And so I rejoice with the Psalmist:

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.

Let Israel say:
"His love endures forever."

Let the house of Aaron say:
"His love endures forever."

Let those who fear the LORD say:
"His love endures forever."

In my anguish I cried to the LORD,
and he answered by setting me free.

Many thanks to those who have prayed and continue to pray for a successful outcome to my treatment. I have said from the very beginning that personal and corporate prayer is key to this journey.
